Youth Introduction to Woodworking
This week of half-day sessions will introduce girls and boys to woodworking. Students will learn the use of common hand tools and may get the opportunity to use the drill press and bandsaw.
Over the course of the week, each student will make:
- A sanding block
- A piece of string art
- A dining table centrepiece
- A tablet or book stand
- A toy or treasure box
We require a minimum of 5 registered students per session in order to hold the class.
Morning sessions are reserved for those entering grades 5 - 8.
Afternoon sessions are reserved for those entering grades 9 - 12.
We are prepared to open additional sessions in later weeks, if enough interest is shown through wait list registration.
The price of this class includes $100 towards the cost of materials. Fluctuating lumber costs may result in a subsquent materials payment prior to the start of class.
